The academic program at the Academy is structured on the Biblical concept found in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go."  This literally means students are to be trained  "according to their bent" or "according to their nature."  This concept comes from the use of a bow which had to be bent, or tensioned, just enough to shoot the arrow the maximum distance.  Too much or too little tension would lesson the performance of the bow.
Our academic program is designed to challenge students to achieve their maximum potential but not so advanced as to frustrate them.  We accept students who are generally capable of performing at or above grade level.  This allows us to teach to the "top of the curve" or over the head of the student so as to elevate them to performance above their natural ability.
Our curriculum is designed and our outstanding faculty is skilled at this method of academic instruction.  Our academic philosophy is not that "no child is left behind," but rather that "every child is advanced above."
