Whitesburg Christian Academy

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends,

I am honored to be able to write this personal letter to you.  I have been involved in some capacity with Whitesburg Christian Academy for most of its life.  I am blessed by God to have been a part of this ministry.  I had a part in the formulation of our mission, and the determination of the focus of our mission as chairman of the school committee several years ago.  I felt amazingly blessed when I was asked to teach and head the Bible department of the school.  I am in awe of the blessing of being allowed to lead this amazing institution as headmaster.

At the same time, I am humbled by the fact that parents have chosen to partner with us in the education of their children.  This is a responsibility that neither I nor the faculty and staff of the Academy take lightly.  It is a work that only can be done through the grace of God.  We need His favor and enablement.  Amazingly, God uses and works through His children to bestow His grace on others.  This letter is a non-apologetic request for you to allow God to use you in a unique way to “grace” the Academy.  My personal goal is to make the Academy a place that anyone would feel honored to have a child attend in the same way that I feel honored to lead the Academy.  I need your help to reach that goal.

At the bottom of this letter you will see a "click and view" brochure with information about the Academy Annual Fund.  This will include information about the nature and purpose of the Annual Fund.  There is another "click and view" donation card.  It asks you to make a commitment to participate.  Our theme is “Strengthen Their Hands” (Ezra 1:6).  Parents make personal sacrifices to send their children to the Academy.  However, the reality is that it takes more than tuition for us to meet our budget and to do things above and beyond the budget.  Our faculty and staff are the “hands” of the Academy.  Many of you have the ability to make a contribution that will greatly strengthen the “hands” of the Academy.   The Annual Fund is critical to the success of our school and to our ability to hold tuition charges as low as possible.

My request in this letter is that you begin to pray about your gift to the Annual Fund.  I consider this to be part of the stewardship of our possessions for which we have been given clear Biblical guidance.  As we seek to apply Biblical guidance in any matter, we should pray.  As we pray, we should ask God to reveal what we should give.  Your gift is an indication of your belief in the Academy; the amount is an indication of your trust in God.

Thank you for trusting us with your children.  Strengthen our hands.

Jerry Reeder
